CUSTODIAN COPIES · 3 MESSAGES FOR THE KIDS
Elena trusted you to decide when Maya and Noah are ready to receive these. There is no automatic delivery — you'll see "Send to Maya / Noah" when you're ready.
A LETTER FROM ELENA · RELEASED MAY 19, 2026
Sam —
By the time you read this, I'll already have told you everything I needed you to know, and you'll have everything you need to take care of yourself and the kids. I made this so you wouldn't have to figure anything out alone, and so you wouldn't have to be sad and competent at the same time.
I want you to do three things in the first week. Please don't try to do all of them at once.
One. Tell Maya and Noah in your own voice. There's a note from me in the messages tab if you want a starting point, but you know our kids better than I knew them. Don't read mine if it gets in the way. They will not remember the words. They will remember that it was you, and that you held them.
Two. Call Jordan Patel. His number is on the contacts page. Tell him you've opened the plan. He has everything — the trust, the will, the insurance contacts. He's expecting you. Let him do the things he's good at so you don't have to be good at them.
Three. Eat. Sleep. Walk Otis. Don't open the email yet. The world will wait a few days, and so will the bank.
The checklist tab will tell you what to do after the first week — at your own pace. The vault has every account, every reference, every contact. There are no surprises in there. If something is confusing, it's a mistake I made, not a riddle. Call concierge.
I left you a video too. Save it for when you're ready. There's no right day for it. There might not be a day at all, and that's okay.
You're going to be magnificent at this. I'm so proud of who you've always been to us.
Always,
E.
